No problem if she does it, provided it is done away from public eyes.

well it would be stupid, considering the fact that Syeda Zaynab (sa) was the first to draw blood from her head. She was refered to as "Ainta Allmah Ghyar Mualmah" untaught scholar by Imam Sajad (as). Im sure she (sa) knows best

It has been reported that when Bibi Hind (r.a)
came to Zindan e Shaam (the jail of Damaskus, Syria) and saw the Head of Maula
Hussain (a.s) she was deeply saddened. Because of the grief she took a stone off
the ground and hit Her head with that stone and as a result of that She fainted.
When she got up again, Bibi Zainab (s.a) told Her, “Oh Hind, get up and go
home, I am scared that your husband Yazeed (l.a) will commit atrocities
on you.“ Bibi Hind (r.a) replied, “I will not move a single step until I do
not do Matam for my Lord Hussain (a.s) and until I do not cry enough and until I
bring You (Bibi Zainab s.a) and the other Shahzaadiyan (s.a) (Princesses)
home.“

(Ref: Sogh Nama Aal e Muhammad, p. 134)

----

When the grand daughter of the Prophet (saws) was brought into the city of
Kufa as prisoner her calamity became more severe. When she saw the head
of Imam (as) on the pointed end of lance, she stroke her head on the
wooden part of the saddle in extreme grief and blood started flowing
from her head.

fair enough, one thing though, is there a hadith that simply says women can do matham by the aima (saw)

do we have any hadiths that aima (saw) say do matham?
would be god to see both types of hadiths thank you

A better question would be, are there any Ahadith prohibiting ladies from doing matham or bloodletting?

The answer is nope!, also if there was it would be refused as it goes against the Quran.

Post by Azadar E Mazloom on Wed Jun 02, 2010 9:26 am

Brother alialiali,

Not saying you do in any way but your question is similar to those who oppose Zanjeerzani and bloodletting by asking for a hadith in which any of our Aima (As) have done Zanjeer.

As per Surah Al Maaida 3: Islam is perfect and complete; 6:38: Neither has anything been neglected from this book (Al-Quran)...

So in this perfect and complete religion where everything that needs to be mentioned HAS been mentioned, where does it state any such act is haram or even undesirable? The question itself of ''where the hadith allowing such and such'' is wrong, the question being asked should be ''is there anything prohibiting such and such''.

Sister azadaar110 has provided you with 2 ahadith proving the permissibility of blood letting for ladies. If one has any hadith in contradiction to the above then please post them so that we may learn from them!

P.s. Brother Silat was stating no such hadith exist prohibiting ladies to take place in such an act of Ibadah.

azadaar e mazloom

thankyou brother, no im not against blood letting or zanjeer,

im just against women, i not sure but even theres these 3 girls that come on tv somtimes reading nohay, come on women,,,,, how far are they going to go.
some opinions i've heard and make allot of sense, some nohay that men recite, they chant bibis (saw) name from their na paak mouths, espcially the non-syeds, did any man dare to speak of bibis (saw) name while in their presence or maulas (saw) presence? wel these shias of today need to know bibi (saw) is here maula (saw) is here, so watch your mouths.

sorry if i offended peple, its an opinion, what you guys think of this

I mean we can not deny if a hadith is presant, but the only hadith we have actually ALLOW ladies to participate in this Ibadah.

hello guys, lol, they are hadiths, mashallah, alhumdulillah,
so it's ok for women.

i don't know maybe im just jealous that women are allowed to do this too lol. But i agree with it too.

It would again be interesting to see why some shias say it's haram, as haram is a big thing. But i guess we will never get anyone who will say this, either we are unfortunate for the lack of knowledge about why they say its haram, or either, ones who say its haram are lost without proof.

Re: should a lady be allowed to bloodshed (ie: qama zani)

Post by Silat_warrior110 on Sat Jun 05, 2010 6:41 am

Salam sorry for a late reply, just been a little busy... coming back to the topic of Qama and Zanjeer, as for a start as stated above Syeda Zaynab (sa) was first to draw blood from her head. This was done in the presence of the Imam (as) who did have not have any objections to it. Secondly also the Imam (as) used to call Syeda Zaynab (sa) as a untaught scholar. This concludes that Syed Zaynab (sa) was at a stage of infallibility that her actions would become a hujja upon men/woman and such action can not be deemed as haram but rather evidence for us. Some people say, that "how is it possible that a woman can be a hujja upon a man?" well let us look at the Quran has to say about this. Look at the concept of running between Safa and Marwa while on Pilgrimage. Bibi Hajra, peace be upon her, who ran between the two hills in search of water for her baby, Nabi Isma'il, peace be upon him. Allah (swt( love her actions so much that till today he made it wajib upon both men and woman to perform this action till the day of judgement.

As for the issue of woman and hijab this is a seperate issue all togther. As for Hijab there is different elements to it, physical, social , and spirtual. What is you objection to it, and can you back your statement with Quran and Hadith Inshallah....
